SCRUFFY DOG RESCUE SHROPSHIRE Matching paws to families, homes and lifestyles

Nurturing paws in our care from Rescue to Adoption

At Scruffy Dog Rescue Shropshire, we are dedicated to providing a safe haven for rescue dogs who have come from appalling conditions, been abandoned or mistreated. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, nurture and rehome dogs from Romania, Bosnia or Spain, ensuring they find loving forever homes throughout the UK.
Founded by Jinni Hugill in 2012, Scruffy Dog Rescue Shropshire is situated near Bridgnorth, Shropshire, UK, and has rescued and homed thousands of dogs, each of them given the best care for their needs and nurtured in Shropshire until they are ready for a forever home. Very experienced, Jinni, along with the small team, look after each dog on an individual basis, and they will not be homed until they are decompressed after arrival, well nourished, lead training has started, some grooming or vet visits required sometimes, and happily socialising, eating, sleeping and playing.

FELIX
Felix, male from Romania, lovely personality, 10 months old, will be neutered before homing. Small, at SDR Shropshire near Bridgnorth.
We are looking for a permanent guardian for Felix, as we noticed he was hopping now and then, had xray and he's had a pelvis break at some time in this life, probably as a very young puppy and his hips aren't formed properly. He's in no pain, and manages really well. Loving forever home wanted, no adoption fee.

TWO DOGS - THE SAME BUT DIFFERENT
We have 2 dogs who both have a lot in common, yet their adoption criteria couldn’t be more different. And we need prospective adopters to come forward and have a chat with us about adopting either of these woofs.
We want to make it as easy as possible so in the first instance send us a WhatsApp message on 07962 639854 with your name and number and the Adoptions Team will phone you.
The dogs in question are Lilly Pointer and Remy-Paco.
Here are the things they have in common:
1.Both are returnees through no fault of their own.
2. Both are neutered.
3. Both have full health checks including a Brucella Canis negative result.
4. Both are being overlooked.
5. Both toilet outside.
6. Both good on the lead.
7. Neither are cat tested so if you have cats you’ll need to manage introductions.
8. Both are at SDR Shropshire nr Bridgnorth.
And here are their individual criteria:
Lilly: female from Spain, 2+ years old, can live with other dogs, needs an active family or a family who can offer her an active life during the day which might mean booking her into regular doggy day-care with outdoor facilities, she’s very active so would not suit a senior adopter. She’d make a good running buddy and would thrive and blossom even more in an active outdoor lifestyle.
Adoption Donation: £750 which includes a UK BC test (negative).
Remy-Paco: male from Romania, 8+ years old, must be only pet in the home; needs a very quiet rural home away from traffic/school/parks etc. Short walks due to his age, would suit any age bracket, needs a quiet home with few comings and goings, and most of all he needs time, love and patience to allow him to settle at his pace.
Adoption Donation: £450.
What we don’t want is for either of these dogs to be returned again, that would be very sad to happen again, so any potential adopter needs to be sure they can cope with their needs and be prepared to work on anything that needs doing for these two lovable rescue dogs. They will both reward you ten-fold if you will accept that the settling in process can take a while. Lilly is likely to settle well so long as her activity is met; Remy-Paco will woof at noises until or unless he feels safe and secure in a calm quiet home.
We absolutely know there will be some fabulous adopters out there who could give either of these dogs a good forever home. It really is time, could that be you?
Thanks for reading.
