SCRUFFY DOG RESCUE SHROPSHIRE Matching paws to families, homes and lifestyles
Jinni is the voice for rescue dogs. A vast experience of bringing dogs to the UK from abroad and placing them in loving homes through an adoption process that is second to none.
Jinni is responsible for everything that SDR does, with her main focus being on looking after the dogs in her care as well as making all the arrangements for sourcing the rescue dogs, liaising with overseas rescuers and vets, and ensuring all protocols are met.
Along the way, on a day to day basis messages, phone calls and emails interrupt her day but all in the name of the next rescue dog being saved.
A lady who has dedicated her life to the dogs, and all she asks is for a regular visit to the local cafe, with a dog or two of course, and a slice of cheesecake 🐾
Adrian has many years experience working with dogs and has had many dogs of his own over the years, mainly large breeds. He has extensive knowledge of dog behaviour and is excellent at helping new arrivals settle in. He is a man of many talents, and has helped around the SDR grounds erecting fences, gates, gravelled areas, and he fixes things whether they are broken or not. Adrian’s main role is coordinating the adoptions, liaising with families, and doing all the behind the scenes admin to ensure the adoption path runs smoothly. He is also an SDR fosterer and regularly has 1 or 2 SDR dogs staying with him. He is known around the place as Mr B; the dogs love him and he can often be seen having cuddles, where the dogs form a queue!
Sue has been on the Team since 2021 when she adopted her first SDR dog. She now has 3 SDR dogs, Libby, Bess and Ella. In 2022 Sue launched the SDR Shropshire Fundraising Facebook Group which has gone from strength to strength. You will also see Sue on all three of our Facebook Groups answering queries, giving advice, and of course managing and running the Fundraising Facebook group, and keeping everyone informed about the dogs we are helping. Sue is also an SDR Fosterer and helps out now and then if required.
Sue dedicates much of her time to fundraising for SDR, as well as running her own small craft business and caring for her own dogs. With her attention to detail, Sue’s greatest strengths are her administrative and organisational qualities. Her greatest weakness is chocolate!
Like the other team members, Lynne is a volunteer for Scruffy Dog Rescue Shropshire. Lynne is a Facebook Group Admin dealing with queries and questions about the adoption process and we are so grateful for her input. Lynne, with her husband Nick, has 2 SDR dogs, Freya and Ruby. She is happily retired and loves the freedom that brings to be with her 2 gorgeous paws who entertain the household with their antics.
Elaine is one of our Facebook Group Admin, who answers queries and questions about the adoption process of our dogs. In her spare time at weekends, she regularly visits the SDR kennels to walk a few dogs, and she has 2 SDR dogs of her own, Jagger and Rosie. We are so grateful for her volunteering and the dogs she walks get to know her and become excited when they see her arriving. But then, as soon as the walks are over, Elaine often heads off for mini breaks with her dogs in her motorhome. Best of both worlds, walking SDR dogs and holidaying at the same time!
We are so lucky to have Ali come along with Elaine to do some dog walking, regularly so at weekends, before heading off in the motorhome for a mini break with her 2 SDR dogs Jagger and Rosie. SDR dogs love being walked up and down the lane by Ali, and she helps get them used to wearing a collar and lead. The dogs she walks regularly have warmed to her, and we often see cuddles and chats going on between Ali and the dog she is walking. We sometimes wonder who is talking to who! Joking apart, we are truly grateful to Ali for giving up her free time to volunteer as a dog walker.
